Houston junior guard Quentin Grimes has been named one of the five finalists for the Jerry West Award, presented annually to the nation's top collegiate shooting guard, by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Grimes is joined by Macio Teague (Baylor), Joel Ayayi (Gonzaga), Joe Wieskamp (Iowa) and Chris Duarte (Oregon).
This is the latest midseason honor for Grimes. He also has been named to the John R. Wooden Award presented by Wendy’s Late-Season Top 20 Watch List and the Lute Olson Award Mid-Season Watch List.
The winner of the 2021 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award will be determined by a combination of fan votes and input from the Basketball Hall of Fame’s selection committee.
