Florida Reaches Third Consecutive American Final With 18-7 Win Against East Carolina

GREENVILLE, North Carolina – Emma LoPinto and Maggi Hall scored four goals each - all in the first half - and Ashley Gonzalez had five assists, to lead top-seeded and No. 8/7 ranked Florida past East Carolina 18-7 Thursday in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship at Johnson Stadium.

Florida (14-4) advances to face either Temple or Vanderbilt in Saturday’s championship final as the Gators improved to 5-0 all-time in The American Championship and reached the championship final for the third consecutive tournament.

LoPinto, the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year who entered the game with a league-leading 79 points, also had an assist to finish with five points against the Pirates.
