PROVIDENCE, R.I. – UConn and UCF were selected to the 2019 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship field on Monday evening, while Cincinnati, Houston and USF were all named to the 2019 Postseason WNIT. 2019 marks the second-straight year the American Athletic Conference has placed five women’s basketball squads in postseason competition.
The Huskies (31-2) secured the No. 2 seed in the Albany Region will make the program’s 31st NCAA Championship appearance. For the sixth-consecutive year, UConn earned The American’s automatic bid as the conference tournament champions.
