East Carolina’s Yesavage Selected 20th Overall in 2024 Major League Baseball Draft

ARLINGTON, Texas – East Carolina junior RHP Trey Yesavage became the latest Pirate to hear his name called in the Major League Baseball Draft Sunday night as he was selected 20th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2024 iteration of the event at Cowtown Coliseum in Arlington, Texas.

Yesavage is the ninth draft selection for the program since 2020, a group that includes current MLB professionals Alec Burleson (St. Louis Cardinals) and Gavin Williams (Cleveland Guardians). Connor Norby (Baltimore Orioles) also made his Major League debut back in June.

Recently minted a consensus First Team All-American, Yesavage earned six 2024 First Team All-America accolades from the American Baseball Coaches Association, Baseball America, College Baseball Foundation, D1Baseball, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game.
