Last week East Carolina linebacker Montese Overton's name was called quite a bit in the Pirates' 49-23 win over SMU. Overton set an American record and tied an East Carolina record with four sacks in the victory. On top of the sacks, Overton tallied six tackles which included five tackles for loss. The big performance earned Overton Defensive Player of the Week Honors. The accolades are not new to the outside linebacker, who has been named to the Butkus Award Watch List and the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List which goes to the country's top linebacker and top down lineman.
