IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alec Makarewicz, Fr., OF/INF, East Carolina
Makarewicz led East Carolina to a 5-0 week hitting .429 (9-21) with six runs, a double, two home runs and seven RBI. He had the walk-off walk against North Carolina and also hit the go-ahead home run in the first game of a four-game series with Cincinnati.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Gavin Williams, Jr., RHP, East Carolina
Williams repeated as Pitcher of the Week after striking out 13 batters for the Pirates in a 7-0 shutout of Cincinnati on Friday.
