IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.
SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Gwen Shahboz, Sophomore, Tulane
Shahboz won two individual events against conference foe Rice on Friday, November 1, including the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:18.48 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:04.09. The next day against Houston and LSU, she finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:13.84 and 400-yard individual medley in 4:19.03.

Ava Portello, Rice
Portello aided the Owls to a dual meet win against conference opponent Tulane on November 1 by winning the 100-yard freestyle in 51.
