Cincinnati's Thomas, USF's Brabencova Named Women's Basketball Weekly Honoreess

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s first weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 12.

Thomas had a record-setting week in back-to-back conference wins for Cincinnati, averaging 27.5 points, 11 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 80 percent (20-of-25) from the field. On Wednesday, she posted a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double as the Bearcats defeated Memphis 73-66. Thomas then put forth a career-high 32 points on 12-of-13 shooting and a perfect 8-of-8 from the foul line in Cincinnati’s 81-64 win over UCF, adding eight rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes.
