IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the second week of the 2022 season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Momo Nakao, So., M, Memphis
Nakao scored the game-winning goals in both contests for the Tigers last week. She scored the opening goal against Iowa State and the second goal against UAB.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abby Sowa, So., D, East Carolina
Sowa and the Pirate defense did not allow a shot on goal against High Point and only one shot on goal against Old Dominion, two Pirate wins.
