MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Cincinnati got a title-game record 33 points from Most Outstanding Player Jarron Cumberland as the No. 24/23 Bearcats downed No. 11/10 Houston to win the 2019 Air Force Reserve American Athletic Conference Championship. UC is the first back-to-back champion in league history and just the second team to win two titles.
Cincinnati never trailed in the contest as the Bearacts took an early 5-2 lead and never looked back.
Cumberland led way as UC was able to avenge two regular-season losses to the Cougars, including the season finale in which Houston claimed the regular season title.
