Opening day for volleyball was a sucess for American teams across the country as AAC finished with 12 wins as a conference, including Temple and East Carolina both going 2-0 on Friday. The Pirates took down Queens 3-0 to begin the day before dowining UNC Wilmington 3-1 to finish the day off. Temple defeated Rider 3-1 in the morning match and swept Radford in the afternoon. Temple's Taylor Davenport leads The American in kills per set through day one, averaging 5.29 in two matches.
Teams will continue action on Saturday beginning at 10 am. ET when Wichita State takes on (RV) Indiana and UTSA takes on Marist.
