Tulane returns eight starters from an offensive unit that averaged 27.5 points and 391.5 yards per game in 2017. The Green Wave ranked 20th nationally in rushing, averaging 231.5 yards per game. Quarterback Jonathan Banks threw for 1,797 yards and 12 touchdowns and added 592 rushing yards with seven touchdowns in his first year with the Green Wave, while wide receiver Terren Encalade led Tulane with 39 receptions, 730 receiving yards and four touchdown catches.
Defensively, linebacker Zachery Harris is the top returning tackler from last year. Harris, who had 69 stops and 3.0 tackles for loss, is the only returning starter among the Tulane linebackers.
