Allen ended the contest with 59 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Ayers recorded a game-high nine receptions for 82 yards.
Houston - who claimed the inaugural American Athletic Conference Football Championship the game prior - went on to win the Peach Bowl, 38-24, behind strong efforts from quarterback Greg Ward Jr.
