Heisman trophy winner Derrick Henry wait a long time to make his presence known in the National Championship Game.
On the Alabama Crimson Tide's second possession, Henry broke through the Clemson defensive line on a third-and-inches play from midfield and outran the Tigers' linebacking core for the 50-yard touchdown run.
The run gave Alabama a 7-0 lead, which may not be great news for Tide fans. The team that has scored first as lost seven of the last 11 national championship games.
Prior to that touchdown run, Henry had run just six times for 21 yards. Alabama has run the ball on seven of their first 10 plays.
