Why Alabama reserve DL is pushing for more playing time late in season

Alabama’s defensive line is coming together at the right time.

Freddie Roach, the Crimson Tide’s defensive line coach, has started to see several players develop into impactful guys.

LT Overton, Tim Keenan III, Tim Smith, and James Smith have all stepped up. Jordan Renaud, a reserve defensive lineman, continues to gain the trust of the coaching staff. The 6-foot-4, 268-pounder has nine total tackles, including half a tackle for loss and half a sack on the season. Renaud, a native Floridian, has seen his playing time increase because of his growth in practice.

The redshirt freshman has an opportunity to be a force in the second half of the season.
