Why Alabama LB's injury could benefit defense in '17

It happened late in the second quarter of the SEC Championship game last December as Shaun Dion Hamilton chased Florida tight end DeAndre Goolsby in the flat.

As Goolsby slipped past him, Hamilton crumpled to the turf inside the Georgia Dome, where he remained prone and grimacing.

"I just remember seeing him go down and I really didn't know what exactly happened, but the way he got the injury was kind of bizarre," linebacker Rashaan Evans said. "Like I've never seen anybody tear their ACL like that."

It was a devastating injury for Hamilton, who missed the College Football Playoff and spent the ensuing months rehabilitating his damaged right knee.
