That was June 2015, one of multiple trips to Alabama for the former four-star quarterback who had the Crimson Tide as one of his three finalists before ultimately opting for Bobby Petrino and Louisville.
He was interested in Alabama. And Alabama had interest in him, enough that coaches like Lane Kiffin and Kirby Smart made trips to visit Pass in Georgia.
So, even though Nick Saban doesn't typically watch much of Louisville, he's been familiar for a while with the quarterback whom his team will face on Saturday.
