A child named Matthew got the chance to ask a question during Nick Saban's radio show Thursday night, a question about quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa that drew laughs from those in attendance at Baumhower's Victory Grille.
"If Jalen gets hurt," the child asked innocently, "can Tua run the plays?"
While a funny moment, it actually led to a worthwhile response from Saban, who talked about Tagovailoa's progression while also sharing that Alabama wants to get the five-star freshman game experience early in the season just in case something should happen to Hurts.
It was the second time recently that Saban has praised Tagovailoa, who is Hurts' backup.
