What we learned, Week 9

By virtue of its dominating 27-3 victory over Georgia in Jacksonville, Florida has a two-game lead on the rest of the SEC East. The Gators (7-1 overall, 5-1 in the SEC) can clinch a spot in the SEC championship game with a win over Vanderbilt in the Swamp next Saturday. It would be Florida’s first trip to Atlanta since 2009, when the Gators lost to eventual national champion Alabama.

The SEC West is going to be a little more complicated. Let’s look at each of the contenders:

Ole Miss (7-2, 4-1) controls its destiny because the Rebels already have beaten Alabama and have games remaining at home with Arkansas next Saturday, at home against LSU on Nov.
