After spending a chunk of the summer reporting on head trauma in football, it's clear reasonable people can disagree. That's true on a national level and within the community of former Alabama football players.
This project felt beyond necessary when a second former Crimson Tide running back was diagnosed with ALS last summer. Evidence points toward increased risk of such diseases for football players. Kevin Turner's ALS death in March coupled with Kerry Goode's progressing battle doesn't do much to disprove that.
Scientific research makes a compelling argument, too. It's hardly a question of if but rather how much.
