Nick Saban texted Kirby Smart after Alabama defeated Georgia 41-34.
Smart coached under Saban as Alabama football’s defensive coordinator for several years. The former Alabama head coach decided to give Smart some advice after the tough loss.
“I know how disappointed everybody in Georgia had to be about Georgia losing the game,” Saban said. “But I actually texted Kirby after the game and said, ‘Hey, this is not the worst thing that ever happened.’”
Saban went on to explain the value in Smart and the Bulldogs moving on and not letting the moment define their season.
