West Virginia names former Alabama TE its tight ends coach

The West Virginia Mountaineers have announced the official hiring of Micheal Nysewander as its new tight ends coach.

Nysewander is a former Alabama tight end and H-Back, who played for the Crimson Tide in three National Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2015.

Nysewander went undrafted and sign with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in the NFL. After his short professional stint, he entered the coaching profession as a running backs coach with the Samford Bulldogs before joining Lane Kiffin’s support staff at Florida Atlantic in 2017.

Nysewander would later follow Kiffin to Ole Miss, where he served as a Senior Analyst for the Rebels for three seasons.
