Former Alabama football coach Gene Stallings made an indelible mark on former Tide player and current Clemson coach Dabo Swinney in a way that resonates today within the Tigers program.
Swinney shared the story of Clemson equipment manager David Saville, who has Down's Syndrome, with ESPN's Tom Rinaldi for a special feature on "College GameDay" Saturday morning.
Swinney said that Stallings' love of and involvement in the life of his Down's Syndrome son John Mark showed him how important it was to involve special needs individuals in his program.
"To me to have a seven year front row seat to Coach Stallings' love for his son, i was so impacted by coach and how he impacted Johnny's life," Swinney said.
