Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick was featured in an ESPN “College GameDay” story Saturday morning ahead of the Crimson Tide’s top-10 matchup against Texas A&M.
The story told of the impact Hurricane Irene had on Fitzpatrick and his family in 2011. As a result of the storm, his family home in Old Bridge, New Jersey was condemned, leaving Fitzpatrick in a precarious position ahead of his first season at expensive private school and football powerhouse St. Peter’s.
“I never thought a hurricane would come through and destroy my house and affect my family like the way it did,” Fitzpatrick said.
