HOOVER | It all came caving in during a disastrous fourth-inning meltdown.

The University of Alabama’s season likely ended Friday afternoon in a 16-1 run-rule shortened loss to the defending national champion Vanderbilt Commodores in the quarterfinals of the SEC Baseball Tournament.

Playing for their postseason lives, Alabama came undone in an eight-run fourth inning that all but ended the game, tournament and, more than likely, the season for the Crimson Tide.

Barring a Selection Show shocker with an unlikely at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, Alabama concluded its season 32-28.
