In the first game of the season in Coleman Coliseum for the University of Alabama women’s basketball team, the Crimson Tide defeated the Alabama A&M Bulldogs, 96-44, on Friday night.

“Got off to a great start,” Alabama coach Kristy Curry said. “Played really hard, had a lot of different folks contribute again.”

The Crimson Tide had seven players in double figures, led by sophomore forward Quanetria Bolton, who had 19 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks.

“She’s (Bolton) been practicing that way,” Curry said. “Love her commitment. Her heart is just so much in the right place every day and she’s such a smart player.
