Tyler Booker reflects on ‘crucial’ 72 hours after Nick Saban retired

Alabama offensive lineman, Tyler Booker spoke with SEC Media in Dallas on Wednesday, and he reflected on the days following Nick Saban’s retirement.

Saban retired from coaching college football in January. His retirement put Crimson Tide players in a tough spot, not knowing who their next head coach will be. The New Haven, Connecticut product feels the Alabama players, who chose to stick with the program use the time as an opportunity to come together.

“Those first 72 hours were crucial,” Booker said. “We really banded together and said hey, ‘we’re gonna stay here and we’re gonna win a national championship’ because we haven’t won a National Championship yet.
