Nick Saban recruited Jaylen Moody and Ty Perine to remove themselves from the transfer portal.
Perine entered his name into the portal on Tuesday, Jan. 25, but he has removed it.
He remains in Tuscaloosa, but Perine returns for his degree. Per sources, he is retiring from football.
A native of Prattville, Ala., Perine came in 2019 as a walk-on punter. He took over the punting duties versus Tennessee in Alabama’s sixth game of the season. Perine ended the year with 13 punts for 581 yards on an average of 44.7 yards per boot.
He made the SEC’s All-Freshman Team and people thought he would become a star.
