For someone who is trying to prove he deserves another crack at the National Football League, Trent Richardson is not backing down. He got off to slow starts in back-to-back games for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football League; however, the fourth quarter has seemed to allow the former All-American to revisit his college roots of Alabama football.
After punching in a pair of touchdowns in the Iron’s 26-0 win over Memphis, Richardson came through with under five minutes left in regulation on Saturday versus the Salt Lake Stallions.
In a matchup dominated by defense and special teams, he recorded his third rushing score of the season from inside five yards – to provide Birmingham a 12-9 lead.
