TUSCALOOSA | The field for the 2016 NCAA Men’s Golf Regional at the Ol' Colony course is full of familiar faces for the University of Alabama.
That's not necessarily a happy circumstance.
The three-day 54-hole regional begins today with an SEC-heavy field that includes four league teams along with Alabama. That includes top-seeded Georgia and No. 12-ranked second-seeded Auburn, but Alabama's first opponent will be itself.
That's because, in its last outing, the No. 17-ranked Crimson Tide struggled to an 11th-place finish in the SEC Championships at St. Simon's Island, Ga.
"It was a bad time for a bad week, but that's the way it is in golf," said Alabama head coach Jay Seawell.
