Tide keeps Warhawks from finding rhythm

The University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks came into Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday looking to knock off the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, but failed in a 34-0 effort.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Garrett Smith was 17 of 37 against the Tide defense and had only 74 yards and two interceptions.

“He is a young, tough man,” said coach Todd Berry, “and he makes a lot of good decisions.”

Smith targeted wide receiver Ajalen Holley on nine of those completions for 38 yards, after senior wide receiver Rashon Ceasar was carted off the field with a lower body injury.
