Three more Alabama players selected to MLB Draft

Three University of Alabama players were selected Wednesday on the final day of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Catcher-infielder Kyle Overstreet was taken by the San Diego Padres in the 14th round and pitcher Will Carter was selected a few picks later by the New York Yankees. Georgie Salem was taken in the 39th round with the 1,156th overall pick.

Two Shelton State Community College pitchers, Grayson Jones and Chase Johnson-Mullins, were both selected by the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.

University of West Alabama's Gandy Stubblefield was selected with in the 28th round with the 834th pick by the Philadelphia Phillies, and former Tuscaloosa County High School graduate Kalik May (Mississippi Valley State) was selected in the 33rd round with the 992 pick by the Toronto Blue Jays.
