FAIRFIELD | The same play was called when West Alabama quarterback Trent Thompson threw his first pass Saturday against Miles and when he threw his last one.
The first one was intercepted. The latter effort yielded a 65-yard touchdown to Tyreek Hill that helped the Tigers to a 13-10 victory over Miles College before an announced crowd of 23,061 at Albert J. H. Sloan Alumni Stadium.
“I had the exact same look and I just missed the throw the first time,” the junior said. “I got it the second time.”
It was a game-time decision that Thompson would start over redshirt freshman Dezmon Huntley, who earned Gulf South freshman honors as he came on in relief last week.
