The long-presumed SEC championship showdown had to wait a few weeks, but here it is: Alabama vs. Georgia in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This time, it's for a national championship.
In terms of matchups, this should be a good one. You're never going to get a mirror image at this level, though these two are quite similar. They have top-10 rushing games with passing offenses ranked 91st (Alabama) and 110th (Georgia).
And both play defense very well. Even with the 54-48 double-OT Rose Bowl win over Oklahoma, Georgia is still top-10 in all major defense categories except for rushing.
