South Alabama has named Lance Ancar its new strength & conditioning coach, football coach Joey Jones told AL.com on Thursday.
Ancar had been an assistant football strength & conditioning coach at Alabama since 2013, and also worked as the head S&C coach for baseball and men's tennis the last two years. On the Crimson Tide football staff he worked under Scott Cochran, widely regarded as the best strength coach in the sport.
"Alabama was the first place I called," Jones said. "Lance has a great background and he'll be a great fit for us."
Ancar replaces Justin Schwind, who is now USA's director of football operations.
