The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to name Kirby Smart the team's new head football coach, a source confirmed to ESPN's Mark Schlabach.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution earlier reported news of Smart's pending hire.
Smart, the current defensive coordinator for the second-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, would replace Mark Richt.
A formal announcement is not expected to come until after Saturday's SEC championship game between the Crimson Tide and No. 18 Florida.
