Some good, and bad from Alabama's first scrimmage

There was some good, some bad Saturday afternoon at the University of Alabama football team's first scrimmage of fall camp, head coach Nick Saban said.

There were turnovers, a few big plays and plenty of good hits to go around.

All in all, it was a typical first scrimmage.

No quarterback separated himself, the running backs weren't featured — Derrick Henry got limited carries and Kenyan Drake was on the shelf with a strained hamstring — and the defense was ahead of the offense.

Of course, the main topic of conversation centered around the quarterback competition, and Saban, as he has stated each time he's asked about the subject, said he's waiting for someone to “take the bull by the horns.
