Clemson with true freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Michigan with an unrelenting defense have started to elevate themselves into the same stratosphere as Alabama.
At least for now.
And that's the same stratosphere, not the same field or stadium.
Still, Alabama has been the odds-on favorite to win the national championship at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas since Sept. 17, pushing its odds all the way to -250 as of this week.
It's well-chronicled that starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has not thrown a pass in the fourth quarter this season. Alabama has led every opponent at halftime by at least 18 points.
