The University of Alabama’s football recruiting class of 2016 lost one of its commits when four-star cornerback Shyheim Carter announced on Monday that he was decommitting from the Crimson Tide. Carter made the announcement via his Twitter account.
Carter committed to Alabama back in the summer of 2014 and there have been some rumblings that he could take a step back to keep his recruiting open.
“He’s just wanting to keep his recruitment open,” Carter’s mentor and coach Vincent Sanders told BamaOnline. “I let my kids make their own decision. He talked to his mom, he talked to me, he talked to his coaches, and he just wanted to revisit everybody and see where everything was at.
