Seattle Seahawks release Jalston Fowler

Fullback Jalston Fowler didn't play in Seattle's preseason opener on Thursday night, and he won't have the opportunity to play in the remaining three on the Seahawks' schedule. Seattle waived the former Alabama standout on Sunday.

Fowler had been on and off the field at Seattle's training camp because of a hamstring problem.

Fowler's release leaves Tre Madden as the only fullback on the Seahawks' roster. He played in eight games with Seattle last season in his first NFL action.

In the Seahawks' 19-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, Madden was on the field for 11 offensive snaps and six special-teams plays.
