Seattle Seahawks looking to 'heart and soul' Jarran Reed for new leadership

From 2012 through 2016, the Seattle Seahawks went to the playoffs annually. For the first four of those seasons, Seattle had the toughest defense to score against in the NFL every year. In 2016, the Seahawks finished third in the league in scoring defense.

Last season, Seattle missed the playoffs and placed 13th among the NFL's 32 teams in scoring defense. And it appears 2017 was the last stand for the Legion of Boom.

So far this offseason, the Seahawks have traded defensive end Michael Bennett, released cornerback Richard Sherman (and saw him sign with division rival San Francisco) and lost defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson in free agency.
