TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball split its doubleheader with Tennessee on Saturday, taking game one by a score of 11-2 before falling, 6-3, in the series finale. The game-one victory earned the Crimson Tide its second SEC series victory in as many weekends.
“It’s about winning series in conference play,” said Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard. “The biggest takeaway for me is that our pitching continues to really pound the strike zone. That was a really good offense in Tennessee. They’re up top in the league in a lot of offensive categories, and I thought we matched up well on the mound.
