Brendan Gant has reneged on his commitment to Alabama.
The four-star prospect and member of the 2019 class announced his decision Sunday via his Twitter account.
The website, 247Sports, ranks Gant as the sixth-best safety in the nation.
Gant was at Florida State on an unofficial visit when he declared that he planned to re-open his recruitment.
"They will still remain one of my top choices," Gant wrote about Alabama in his cyber dispatch.
Gant, a 6-foot-2, 187-pound defensive back from Lakeland, Fla., had committed to Alabama on Dec. 21. With Gant out of the fold, the Tide currently has nine spots filled in its 2019 recruiting class.
