With the 17th pick in the second round, the Washington Redskins bolstered their defense by selecting Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson. Anderson is one of those high-motor guys who just always seems to be around the football and became a vocal leader on defense in his senior season.
Unfortunately for Ryan, none of his measurables jump off the page. He isn’t the biggest or fastest guy at his position, but he is big and fast enough. He is a heady guy who has a knack for finding rush lanes, and was probably the best finisher on the team:
Coming into his senior season, Anderson was used in more of a specialty role and thus hadn’t been asked to drop into coverage very frequently.
