The Jacksonville Jaguars have two veteran safeties in Barry Church and Tashaun Gipson, so when it came time for them to make their selection in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, safety was not a position of need.
But the Jaguars took Alabama safety Ronnie Harrison with the 93rd pick on April 27 anyway.
"We didn't think he'd be here necessarily this late," Jacksonville general manager Dave Caldwell said, "but there's always a reason for things -- certain teams have different needs, certain teams like different players.
