BIRMINGHAM | The Alabama men’s tennis team wrapped up its fall season on Sunday at the CCB Collegiate Invitational where freshman Spencer Richey came away with a win in his singles main draw final. Throughout the three-day tournament the Crimson Tide collected a combined 21 wins in singles and doubles.
The white singles draw final was going to come home to Alabama no matter the outcome as the Tide had both Richey and sophomore Sam Edwards in the match, however in the end it was Richey outlasting Edwards, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3, for the title. In the crimson draw, sophomore Matthew Rossouw won his consolation match, 6-4, 6-1, over UAB’s Mitchell Martell, while redshirt freshman Langford Hills posted a 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-1 victory over Louisville’s Brian Tsao in the houndstooth draw.
