Former Alabama and Florida offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is joining Ed Orgeron's LSU staff as an offensive analyst, according to reports by SI.com's Bruce Feldman and the Baton Rouge Advocate.
The 47-year-old Nussmeier spent the last three seasons as Florida's offensive coordinator under Jim McElwain, but was not retained when Dan Mullen took over as Gators head coach in November. Nussmeier was offensive coordinator at Alabama from 2012-13, helping the Crimson Tide to a national championship in his first season.
Nussmeier, a former NFL quarterback, has also coached at Michigan State, Fresno State, Washington and Michigan, in addition to stints in the CFL and with the NFL's St.
