Reports: Alabama OL Alphonse Taylor tested negative for alcohol at DUI stop

Alabama offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor did not have any alcohol in his system when he was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence nearly two weeks ago.

According to court documents obtained Friday by both The Tuscaloosa News and Decatur Daily, Taylor had a blood-alcohol content of 0.0 but was still arrested the morning of July 17 after performing poorly on field sobriety tests.

“I immediately noticed that Taylor’s speech was very slow and he appeared lethargic,” the responding officer wrote in the arrest report. “Taylor advised that he had not been drinking, he did not take medication and had no medical problems.
