Reports: Alabama hires WR coach Josh Gattis away from Penn State

While Mike Locksley’s promotion to offensive coordinator isn’t official, it appears Alabama is going to fill his old spot as receivers coach with Penn State’s Josh Gattis.

Gattis, 34, has worked for James Franklin for the past six years – the first two at Vanderbilt and the past four at Penn State. Gattis has been Penn State’s receiving coach and offensive recruiting coordinator in his time in State College.

FootballScoop.com was the first to report the news, and ESPN and Fox Sports also say it’s happening. Fox also reported that Gattis is expected to become co-OC with Locksley.
