Alabama reportedly has hired former Heisman winner Chris Weinke, who spent the past two seasons as the Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback coach, as an offensive analyst.
The Tuscaloosa News reported that Weinke, 44, would replace Clint Trickett, who briefly held the position before joining Lane Kiffin’s staff at Florida Atlantic as tight ends coach.
Weinke’s work with the Rams was heavily criticized and he was fired after the 2016 season. Before being hired by the Rams, Weinke was the director of football at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (2010-14), where he coached current Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough.
